Tena Tena Camp
"Tena Tena Camp... is altogether beyond superlatives, and must be one of the best safari camps in the whole of Africa", The Times, London.
This remote and small camp lies at the south end of the Nsefu sector in the South Luangwa National Park and enjoys a stunning location on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River. Nearby there is a spectacular lagoon, Buca Buca, where a whole morning can be spent quietly sitting while the game comes down to feed and drink.

A grove of mahogany trees shades the large custom-made tents, accommodating just eight to ten guests. Each of the private and spacious tents has an en-suite bathroom with open-air shower. A dressing room made of woven bamboo separates the tent and the bathroom, and a veranda overlooks either a waterhole or the river.

The camp has a thatched dining room and bar, from which guests can watch the elephants, hippo and antelope on the river banks, although nearly all the meals are eaten alfresco, under the shade of the central mahogany.

Activities from the camp include walks led by an experienced naturalist and accompanied by an armed game scout, game drives conducted in open four wheel drive vehicles and night drives.
