Trip Summary | Stanley's Camp | Chief's Camp | Chobe Chilwero | Locations

Chobe Chilwero Lodge is situated on the border of Chobe National Park. Chilwero means “place of high view” in the local language, Setswana. The lodge sits above the Chobe River and offers unparalleled panoramic views across the islands and flood plains as far as Namibia.

Chobe Chilwero comprises fifteen spacious bungalows, each with an en-suite bathroom with a modern bath, indoor and outdoor showers, private garden with hammock, “sala” or private balcony, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, hairdryer, minibar and in-room safe.

The main public areas include a lounge and dining area, which are linked to outdoor viewing patios. The lodge also boasts a split-level swimming pool and a Spa offering a range of spa and hydrotherapy treatments. A wine cellar houses a wide variety of the finest South African and European wines. There is also a library, curio shop and a communications centre.

Enjoy guided game drives in open-sided 4X4 vehicles that bring you to the heart of Africa's largest concentration of elephants, as well as hippos, buffalos, puku, antelope, lions and other creatures that gather on the banks of the Chobe River. Or join your guide on a wondrous water safari on specially adapted motorboats. Sundowner cruises are particularly spectacular on the Chobe River. Fishing excursions are also available (at additional cost).

Although located in Botswana, this intimate lodge is easily accessed from Zambia and the world famous Victoria Falls. Guests can enjoy a day trip to visit the Falls if desired.
